Since his one year research sabbatical in 1989, to study dental implants at the Royal London Hospital , Michael has dedicated all his clinical and postgraduate time to the practice and study of implant reconstructive dentistry. He has fulfilled the requirements set out by the General Dental Council, and is registered as a specialist in surgical dentistry. In recognition of his expertise in this field, Michael has been
appointed Visiting Professor to the department of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery at Marquette Type
University Dental
School in
Milwaukee , USA .
In addition he was recently inducted as the 75th Fellow of the
Academy of
Osseointegration , from a membership of
over 5000 specialists and dentists. Michael has held the position of Honorary Associate Specialist
to the departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Charing
Cross Hospital ,
London and at Bedford
General Hospital ,
from 1991 to 2001. He is also clinical consultant to Astra Tech, one of the
world's leading implant manufacturers. Michael is known to play a major role in the education and training of his dental colleagues through his international lecturing, his much sought-after courses and through the publication of numerous articles. He is the past chairman and scientific adviser of the Association of Dental Implantology, having held each post for 2 years. Michael's textbook* Dental

acclaimed journal Dental Implant Summaries. Michael is married to Louise and has three boys, Clark, Jake and Saul.
